The idea for Bird in the Bush comes from working outside my studio and watching a bird who had nested in a dense, thick thorn bush.

The bird would simply fly through the bush effortlessly without ever getting caught on any of the thorns or branches.

In the sculpture I try to depict my interpretation of the bird just about to take flight through the branches
